Some life experiences:

Taught Calligraphy in Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia
Had a boutique in Ashland, OR, where I designed & made the garments.
Lived in London 3 months to study 14th thru 16th C. Books of Hours and Psalters (calligraphy & illumination) @ British Museum Library Manuscript Room
Lived in Athens on a boat on Piraeus Harbor - to study Byzantine art @ the National Library while designing (clothing & graphics) for a boutique on Syntagma Square.
Finished BFA @ Northern Arizona University & later taught several classes for several years: Handlettering, Calligraphy & Graphic Design
For 15 years had my art studio in a building at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, AZ with a consortium of 4 other artists in different disciplines.
DierkerDesign Studio - 20+ years in Flagstaff: mostly print, identity & later, web; also some illustration.
5 years Graphic Design for Northern Arizona University.
2 years at Grand Canyon & the Natural History Association, designing a wide variety of publications.
Principal Designer for AzureFire Design for 2 decades.
Now living in Cambria with my beloved, Helmut. Always parallel creating. Many different modes.

Focus now is on digital tools combined with analog skills for unique creating - always changing.

Travel the last couple of decades: with a focus on Design & Contemporary Art, lately Digital Art: NYC, the SouthWest, CA, Europe - especially Vienna. Norway, Stockholm, Barcelona, Italy & France. 

The last several years 3 month-long trips to Japan... and another planned soon; such a rich, thoughtful country, especially now for contemporary & digital major art museums & exhibits.
